About me: Nina

Hi there, I’m Nina!

If you are reading it, you might be asking yourself: who is Nina and how did she become a happiness nerd?

Since my very first job experience in 2007 I have always felt unhappy and stressed at work, not only because I didn’t love what I was doing, but the environment wasn’t pleasant at all - without even mentioning bad bosses and peers.

But I have also noticed everyone around me felt the same. I thought it must be it: work sucks and I have to get over it and accept it is what it is.

Fast forward to 2013, when I saw myself fighting against depression and anxiety while working in a super hostile environment. I couldn’t breathe, stopped eating and my world became literally grey. I wasn’t able to see the good in life anymore.

After taking antidepressants for a while I have decided to change the way I was living my life, otherwise I’d be relying on drugs for the rest of my days - and this was not an option for me.

This was when I had the first contact with the science of happiness and started to really dig into self awareness, how to be happier and boosting my wellbeing. I have realized that it was up to me making my life either miserable or delightful, stopping blaming others (and the companies) for my own unhappiness.

It was a game changer for me and I couldn’t stop reading and learning about it since then. It became my passion.

Since I started on this journey I have helped many friends sharing my knowledge and experience with them. Also, even though I was a marketer, I was able to help a few companies to look at their employees from a different perspective, creating a better and happier workplace.

That’s why I have created this space, where I share practical tips for both individuals and companies on how to be happier and boost wellbeing using not only scientific proven techniques but also combining an holistic approach to it.

Welcome to my Happy Lab. 😊
